Jumping from the edge/corner position to forward position, in the front position the knee is elevated to the waist line at the front. The foot can be styled with being parallel or toes pointing down, distance of the heel from the standing foot knee etc.
High Basic is slower movement(takes more time) than low basic, but ultimately timing depends on the dancer. The move is used commonly as a in-between, intro and exit move. Notably more so than the low basic.
Front foot high or low, pivoting left or right are common.
